The first journey of the Comenius project was held in February 2014 taking place in Turkey, Samsun. The participant Hungarian students: Bianka Varga, Erik Pózer, Enikő Kovács. Our teachers: Sándor Derecskei; Márai Derecskeiné Nagy; Zsolt Pataki. The title of the meeting was: The climate changing effect on the agriculture. Overall we spent 7 days in a town with a poulation of 1.2 million people.
We arrived on Sunday, where the hosts were already waiting for us.
The professional programs of the project began in Monday morning. In the local school the students greeted us in traditional Turkish outfit. After this they showed us the whole school. In the afternoon we visited the veterinary and animal health laboratory stations, where the Turkish students study. Within the frame work of the cultural program we visited the Amazon village. It was on the coast of the Black-sea.
On Tuesday we took part on a conference where the students demonstrated their presentation which they made in their country. These were about the global warming effects. We listened Professor Tekin Kara lecture about the topic. The conference started at 9am and ended at 18pm. At night we went to sightseeing with the leading of our kind host, Mehmet Gülcan.
On Wednesday we visited the bird sanctuary in Kizilirmik. There we could see such nature significances that we can’t see in our country. At night we met the Turkish folk dance and musical traditions.
On Thursday we went to Amasya. We learned about local legends. We could take a look at Medical and Science Museum, as well as The Lover’s Museum and the Local History Museum.
Friday was the most important day because we held a professional conference that day. We made 3 different groups from the members of the 5 country. We made posters about the topic. After the last tea party the partner countries said goodbye.
In total the project week was ended successfully, we met Turkey’s culture; we practiced the English language and made new international friendships.
