Problems we intend to address:
- being unaware of how the climate is changing
- insufficient knowledge about other countries in the EU
- irresponsible attitudes towards climate change;
- not knowing how to live a more natural life;
- the absence of teaching teamwork skills from the current educational programmes;
- intolerance to cultural and religious differences;
- shortage of possibilities to travel and communicate with other nations in Europe;
- insufficient exposure to ICT and computer tools for those living in rural areas;
- not enough opportunities to practice English as a foreign language.
Objectives:
- To raise awareness of the importance of climate change;
- To encourage attitudes saving nature and incorporate elements of Climate Education into the curriculum;
- To form responsible attitudes towards saving climate and environment
- To maximize the exposure of our pupils to the other partner countries, peers' life styles, languages, cultures;
- To involve pupils in verbal, written and online communication;
- To promote and reinforce creativity and innovation through exchanges and different forms of cooperation;
- To promote language learning and linguistic diversity within Europe;
- To contribute to developing teachers’ and students’ teamwork skills;
- To increase students’ motivation and self-confidence as well as to make learning more attractive, in particular for disadvantaged areas.
APPROACH:
We intend to take an active-learning approach by attempting to fit the material to the needs of the persons participating. When a pupil is actively involved in learning, the locus of control shifts from the teacher to the pupils and, thus, engages them physically and cognitively. It also emotionally promotes action, as young people learn to recognize their own capacity and are placed at the center
